We are happy to talk with families of possible new entrants on an informal basis, to send information and to show people around our school. However, formal admission to the school can only be granted by the Local Authority . Further information on admissions and access to an electronic application form can be found in the Admissions section of the North Yorkshire Council website. We have added the link below for your ease:

We arrange a 'Meet and Greet' with you and your child/children and their new teacher. We welcome you to look around the classroom prior to starting so it is not so daunting. Children who arrive individually are given a ‘buddy’ for the first few days who will help them to settle into their new class. They will be shown where to hang their coats, what to do at lunchtimes and generally helped in the process of settling in to their new school. A kind, caring 'buddy' can make all the difference to your child settling in.

You will be given a copy of the Wavell Community Primary School Home-School Agreement for you and your family to read.  Whilst this is not a contract in the legal sense of the word, it is a commitment to a partnership which will give your child the best chance of succeeding in this new school.  We do hope that you feel able to sign and return it to the school.
